Testimonials
Tsholofelo Cogang
Hello everyone, my name is Tsholofelo Cogang. I am from Kuruman. I have 8 years experience as an ECD practitioner. From my teaching background , I am now working as a grade R teacher.
I started my ECD journey with Ecd level 4 in 2018 and my level 5 in 2021 at Custoda trust ,sponsored by Sioc-cdt. During this journey there were obstacles and challenges, but it never stopped me from learning. Through this journey, I’ve become more accountable, confident, and adapted at advanced skills. I was the top student at Custoda Trust on both NQF Level 4 and 5. Custoda helped me grow and inspired me a lot through the prizes and awards I received.
In my life I realized that teaching is not just a career to me, but a calling. When I was busy with my ECD level 5 studies, I also enrolled for Diploma in Grade R with SANTS University. I have completed my ECD Level 5 in 2022 and my Diploma in grade R in 2023. At SANTS I was paying for myself, one income wasn’t enough, I had to do something with my life to be able to pay for my studies. I started a small bussines selling (Avon) Perfumes. In my first year, the second semester, I received a NYS learnership from the Department of Education. My stipend was R2 100, my monthly study fees were R2 300, I never had a problem to make payment, and I couldn’t believe that one of these days I would be smiling like now.
This year, 2024, I have enrolled for a degree in foundation phase. It is not only about doing my degree, it’s about personal growth, meaningfull connections, and values. After my Ecd level 4 & 5 at Custoda Trust I definitely have more confidence in doing new things in my life. I also completed my facilitator, assessor and moderator courses. My personal development has grown so much that I now do things outside of my comfort zone.
I enjoy obtaining new skills, this ECD qualification has given me so much more knowledge and opened the doors to my future. All I can say is that:
“Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion”.
